The main focus of NovaTrails is to provide informative articles and links on local hiking trails and hiking information in the province of Nova Scotia.
This site was developed out of a need/wanting to share the natural wonders of Nova Scotia with people from around our province and also to visitors from around the world.
I’ve been hiking and exploring Nova Scotia since I was a kid growing up with woodland, rivers, lakes and a waterfall practically on my parents back doorstep. I have always wanted to share these experiences with other people. When I began developing this website there was very little online information on hiking in Nova Scotia. I wanted to provide an easy way for people to find trails and get out exploring and experiencing this great province.
NovaTrails was launched in October 1998 and over the years I have found more natural wonders of this province then I could have ever imagined when I started out.
In the years since there has been an explosive growth in the number of hiking trails in this province and a high interest for more information on them. I hope to able to continue to provide regular updates to this site and help more people explore the nature of Nova Scotia.
